Note: This feature is available only to administrators and to inventory assistants with permission to edit product data.
A product may be identified by one or more bar-codes of different types (such as a UPC, a vendor code, and an internal part number). Edit a product's bar-codes when you need to add, edit (in code or type), and/or delete one or more bar-codes. Each change you make immediately takes effect for any user simple searching, advanced searching, or opening products by bar-code.
When adding or editing a product bar-code, you can type the new bar-code or use a bar-code scanner. This scanner must be connected to your workstation and configured to begin each scanned code with <bc> and end each scanned code with </bc>. When a scanner is set up in this way, you can use it to quickly enter bar-codes in any bar-code field in DolphinRTK by following this procedure:
Place your cursor in the bar-code field.
Use the scanner to scan the desired bar-code.
The scanned bar-code is automatically entered in the field.
To edit a product's bar-codes:
Starting at the Product Information page
Click the EDIT button at the top of the display.
Note: This button appears only when you are logged in as a) an administrator, or b) an inventory assistant with permission to edit product data.
The Information Administration page opens, showing the areas of product data you can edit.
